Blogette: DIY Cleaning Spray

Saturated citrus, anyone? (that scented vinegar, tho)

Cleaning with a simple vinegar solution was a complete revelation to me. I grew up on Windex, Fabuloso and bleach, so I didn’t realize cleaning could be as lovely as an orange-vinegar spray. Not only does it give me an incentive to eat more oranges, but also to make use of the peels longer and have fun cleaning.

Just stick your orange peels in a mason jar, fill it with vinegar, and let it sit for approximately one month before diluting it in a spray bottle. You can remove the orange peels earlier or later depending on your own preference–experiment and see what you like best!

When mixing the vinegar with water, a good ratio to follow is 2 parts vinegar to 1 part water.

I usually just toss the orange peels after I remove them from the vinegar, but would love to hear any other ideas for how to dispose of them.

Let me know how this works for you!
