I grew up using bar soap, so this is a super easy way to reduce waste for me. My most recent bathroom addition is that shampoo bar in the background, though, and so far I love it.
My main piece of advice for anyone who wants to start adopting bits of sustainable living into their lifestyles is to pick what swaps are easiest for you and start there. Mine started with this nifty safety razor and I’ve slowly been adding more habits into the mix ever since. Once you realize how easy it can be to do some things, the more empowered you become to make changes and *hopefully* inspire those around you to take similar steps.
It’s not about doing everything–it’s about doing what is within the realm of possible for YOU (and only you can determine what is and isn’t). Those of us privileged enough to vote with our dollar every time we make a purchase hold so much power to tell companies what we value and force them to accommodate us. That’s why I do what I do. I want to give people the tools needed to play an active role in your society/communities/families and make the world a better place.
