Reusables for days

Reusables > Disposables
.
I consistently bring my reusable bag, silverware, to-go container (mason jar/tupperware/metal tiffin), reusable mug, handkerchiefs (sometimes), and, if you’ve seen my latest YouTube video, a water bottle with me when I’m out and about. I also frequently forget at least one of them because, let’s face it, it’s not easy being green. I think I’m just ready for businesses and the laws that govern their practices to function in a way that compliments and enhances a sustainable way of life and not the other way around. It’d be nice if all us eco-minded folk didn’t have to move mountains every day just to try and keep our waste at a manageable level (looking at you ‘automatic handful of ketchup packet givers’).
.
It’s tiresome (but totally worth it) to be on the edge of your seat every time you eat someplace just to make sure the server hears your “no straw” request before they just do what they’ve always been told and assume the addition of that piece of single-use plastic is beneficial to your sipping experience.
.
In the meantime, just bring your reusables when you can and demonstrate the way forward for our society.
.
What’re your favorite to-go zero waste swaps?
