via Instagram What’s your favorite non-dairy yogurt?

Did you know that producing one glass of dairy milk every day for a year requires 7 thousand sq ft of land and “more than 10 times as much as the same amount of oat milk” (Guibourg & Briggs, 2019). The dairy industry takes an enormous toll on the environment due to the amount of land required to raise cattle, greenhouse gas emissions, and intensive water use. And that’s not even taking into account the health and ethical issues involved with factory farming and the treatment of animals in these situations. However, non-dairy milks are, across the board, all better options than cow milk. The only caveat to that is that almond milk is rather water intensive too, though not as bad as dairy milk. Oat milk is regarded as having some of the lowest environmental impact, while coconut and soy milks are somewhere in the middle.
